Picking up the broom or the traditional vacuum cleaner every day is a common habit in many homes, especially those with animals. But why, at the end of the day, don’t you just sit on the couch, pick up your smartphone and order a robot vacuum cleaner to do this job for you? This is what robot vacuum cleaners really offer and today we are introducing you to the BlitzWolf BW-VC2.
The BW-VC2 is an intelligent vacuum robot capable of mapping the house through its laser sensor. The equipment weighs 3.1 kg and, on average, a load allows about 150 minutes of cleaning, at normal power. On the other hand, at full power, the autonomy is about 90 minutes.
The vacuum cleaner also has two other suction powers. Thus, one is silent and offers a longer autonomy, of about 3 hours. The other intermediate, the Powerfull, offers 120 minutes of suction. Finally, the battery charging time of 5200 mAh is then 4 hours.
The maximum noise level, when used at full power, is about 70 dB, at normal power it will be around 60 dB. This robot can be connected to a Wi-Fi network at 2.4 GHz, so that there is an interaction between it and the smartphone. In addition, it also reproduces information in English indicative of its status. Its garbage deposit is 0.38 liters.
BlitzWolf offers a vacuum cleaner with an image very close to that of most equipment within this segment and range. It is thus a circular model, all in matt plastic.
In the upper zone, it includes the laser sensor for mapping, the lid for access to the garbage dump and also the Home and Power buttons. In addition, it includes a small LED light.
The sides and sensors and dampers are included. Below is another set of sensors that very effectively prevents the vacuum cleaner from falling from higher areas, such as balconies or stairs.
There are also robust wheels that allow you to go up and down small unevenness without getting stuck, ideal for those with rugs and carpets. It also has two common rotary brooms for this type of equipment, a steering wheel, and the suction zone with rotating brush.
BlitzWolf has several applications on the Play Store and the App Store. However, for this particular vacuum cleaner, the correct app is BlitzWolf Clean [ Android | iOS ], by Shanghai Lambot Intelligent Co., Ltd.
The whole connection process is very intuitive. That way, just add the Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz) and start the connection between both. It is natural that initially it is necessary to make some software update available for the vacuum cleaner.
The application is all in English. The language may be a barrier for some users, but the truth is that it is a very intuitive and simple to use app. In addition, Google Translate is here to help us!
It must be said that the application is quite complete and, of all the available features, I only found one disadvantage. But let’s go by parts.
Once the first complete mapping is done, it should record the map and load it into the vacuum cleaner. This feature is ideal for those who have more than one room. Thus, from Settings, followed by “Load Map”, you will find the maps registered by the vacuum cleaner in “Map history”. Then, you must proceed to “Save as map”. In “Saved Map”, you should then proceed to “Load Map”.
Once this procedure is done, you will be able to choose one of up to four recorded maps, and proceed with the aspiration in the desired places.
You can choose the type of cleaning you want, whether in zigzag or grid and the respective suction power. In More you will then find cleaning options by area. You can design cleaning areas, create restricted areas, create virtual walls or, simply, create a cleaning point.
There are then several features and additional information that further increase its use.
But what is the disadvantage? Through the app it is not possible to identify the divisions and direct the vacuum cleaner to a specific one. Despite this, with the creation of manual cleaning areas, this disadvantage is easily overcome.
The BlitzWolf® BW-VC2 allows you to aspirate in zig-zag and grid. In addition, Silence, Normal, High and Full modes are available.
When vacuuming at normal power, a total cleaning area of 150 square meters is possible. If the cleaning area is larger, when the vacuum cleaner reaches 20% of battery, it then returns to the base to charge. Then, at 80%, he resumes activity from the point where he ended.
The route chosen by the vacuum cleaner to start the job does not always seem the most “smart”. However, the cleaning area covered is quite large per battery cycle and the total cleaning time is not exaggerated.
Surfaces such as wood, mosaic, stone or floating floors are cleaned effectively. Rugs and short-haired carpets are also vacuumed. However, carpets with longer hair will not be cleaned. The vacuum cleaner even starts cleaning on them, but the hair is an obstacle to the central brush, generating an error.
Thus, a virtual wall should be created around this type of carpet, so that there are no problems during vacuuming.
It is evident that for an efficient cleaning of the house, the vacuum cleaner must be cleaned frequently. Maintenance is simple: just unload the tank, clean the brooms and the rotating brush. The sensor panels must be cleaned with a cloth to remove dust.
The BlitzWolf BW-VC2 is available on the market for less than $500. In view of its characteristics, effective cleaning and functionalities of the application, this is a truly competitive price in the market. It is thus a direct competitor to Xiaomi’s most popular options, but at an even lower price. Of course, if you want a cheaper sweeping robot, you might consider BlitzWolf’s first product: BW-VC1, which is also quite good and has a good reputation.
The possibility of recording more than one map is ideal for those who have more than one floor in the house. In addition, suction in general is satisfactory and can be improved by choosing more powerful suction modes.
