The story with Mooz is quite entertaining, as in the autumn of last year on kraudfandingovoy site Kickstarter left the eponymous South Korean start-up with almost identical apparatus, although equipped with less powerful laser and milling nozzles. Another twin appeared in the spring of 2017, but was offered by a California startup Snap maker. It may very well be that it was Dobot who acted as an OEM supplier, and now decided to release the device under its own brand.

Whatever it was, the Dobot Mooz is built on a chassis made of aviation aluminum with industrial grade guides that provide high rigidity and accuracy with a repeatability of 0.02 mm. Modular design allows you to assemble the device within ten minutes and quickly replace the working nozzles.

Mooz is controlled with a 3.5-inch color touchscreen LCD, similar to smartphone screens. The intuitive interface is designed with an orientation to inexperienced users. Data transfer is possible directly from the computer, or via USB-drive. Mooz is compatible with various software from third-party companies, such as Cura, Slic3r and Printrun. The file formats used include STL, OBJ, JPG and PNG.

The list of available attachments includes print heads, laser engraver and milling cutter. The nozzles are fixed on the carriage using four hexagonal screws. The print head with a maximum extrusion temperature of 260°C allows working with filaments from PLA, ABS, polycarbonate and elastomers. If necessary, the work table is heated to temperatures in the range from 50 ° C to 100 ° C. The size of the construction area is 130x130x130 mm, and the practical printing speed is 80 mm / s. The diameter of the standard nozzle is 0.4 mm, the thickness of the layers varies between 50-300 microns.

The laser head is equipped with a 0.5 W radiator and is designed for working with wood, paper, some types of plastics, leather and other suitable materials. The milling nozzle delivers up to twelve thousand revolutions per minute and is designed for working with wood, plastics, printed circuit boards and other non-metallic materials.

Thanks to its modular design, the device is available in different configurations, including one and two vertical guides (Mooz-1Z and Mooz-2Z), as well as a delta robot (Mooz-3z). The selling price depends on the bundle – from $ 519 for Mooz-3z to $ 799 for Mooz-Full with a full set of baits.
