Immersion glasses are expensive, even though the historical manufacturers FatShark or Skyzone have offered a little more affordable models. Eachine, on the other hand, continues to advance the EV range, which is characterised by a light price while retaining interesting features. The EV200D glasses were quite successful (see the test here), the manufacturer now offers the EV300D…
The two LCD screens provide a resolution of 1280 x 960 pixels (1280 x 720 on the previous model), for a FOV of 42° (similar to that of the EV200D). The glasses can display an external analog signal via a 3.5 mm jack connector, or an HD source via a miniHDMI jack. But they are autonomous, with the presence of a dual 5.8 GHz Diversity type receiver. A total of 2 modules and 4 antennas. This is enough to optimize reception, especially since Eachine indicates a sensitivity of -93 dBm !
It is possible to replace one of these receivers with yours, but the manufacturer indicates that it should be used alone, and should not be mixed with one of the receivers provided. Antennas are not provided, it is up to you to equip the receivers with RP-SMA models – a total of 4 are required. Note that the 3.5 mm jack also allows the analog signal to be broadcast to another viewing device or DVR. A DVR, there is also one on board, to record analog videos, in 30 fps, on a microSD card.
Settings are available to apply filters to the image to control color saturation and temperature. Eachine says she has added a video noise reduction algorithm. Wearers of vision correction glasses will be able to enjoy an adjustment of the focal length, as well as the interpupillary space between 56 and 72 mm. Corrective lenses for myopia, astigmatism and hyperopia will be available as accessories. The image aspect is configurable with the classic 4:3 and 16:9, but also with a Panorama mode displayed by default, mix between 4:3 and 16:9, and with zoom and HDMI modes. The glasses are capable of automatically detecting PAL and NTSC modes. It is possible to perform firmware updates via a microSD card.
The glasses are to be powered via a DC socket, between 7.4 and 30V, i.e. 2S to 6S ! Eachine provides a case for two 18650 rechargeable batteries (without batteries). A fan connected to the main power supply (without the need for a balancing plug) prevents fogging when it is cold or when the difficulty of flying sticks a good sweat. The ultimate detail… in the little world of immersion glasses? The glasses are equipped with an on/off button. Even the fan has its button on… and off! The operating temperature is from -9° to +39°C. The price? The EV300Ds will be available at Banggood Mall for $319.99.
