ILIFE A7 WiFi APP Control Robot Vacuum Cleaner

iLife A7 is a robot vacuum cleaner, which went on sale in July 2018 and immediately caused considerable excitement. The manufacturer has long been known for its high-quality products, but no one thought that the next generation could cost only $ 300. Usually this technique costs from 200 units of American currency , that is, the price of the sample we are considering can be called average. It is necessary to understand how good this vacuum cleaner is. Quite possibly, this is absolutely not worthy of attention apparatus, which you will throw out a week after the purchase.

Appearance

The body of the vacuum cleaner is a disk with a diameter of 32 centimeters, but a protective bumper protrudes from one side to one centimeter. The upper panel of glossy plastic black is decorated with a huge amount of balsa under the varnish, it looks very impressive.

In the front part of the upper panel there is a LED-display with information about the state of the vacuum cleaner and 5 control keys. First of all, a large button with an indicator to activate the automatic mode. The remaining 4 are responsible for special modes and setting the cleaning schedule.

The ends and the underside of the vacuum cleaner from practical matte plastic perfectly resist the appearance of scratches from contact with the surface to be cleaned. The cleaning system is familiar to other ILIFE robots with dry cleaning function. With two rotating brushes, the vacuum cleaner sweeps dust, dirt and small objects to the dust collector with the main brush. The latter is of two types, for smooth and pile surfaces. The wheels of the changes, too, have not undergone, massive rubberized on a spring-loaded base.

On the front bumper is a group of IR sensors, which notify about major obstacles on the route. The bumper is equipped with a rubber lining and mechanical sensors to detect smaller obstacles after a soft collision. Additional IR sensors on the lower half of the case track the presence of the surface under the robot and prevent the fall from the height.

Functionality and management

ILIFE A7 is designed for dry cleaning of dust and small debris. The built-in 22-watt electric motor works in two modes, standard and maximum for the best result.

There are 4 modes available, the first one is automatic. To activate it, simply press the “Start” key on the device case or on the control panel. In this mode ILIFE A7 scans the space around itself, after which it starts cleaning. Moving chaotically, the vacuum cleaner tries to cover the entire area of ​​the room, and then returns to the docking station.

The second mode resembles an automatic mode, but the movements are not chaotic, but resemble a zigzag. Thus, the robot cleaner minimizes the missed areas, but the cleaning takes longer. The third mode is aimed at assembling small debris and dust at the corners. The vacuum cleaner tries as much as possible to carefully and precisely round each obstacle. This mode is especially effective in conditions of a loose room.

If automatic modes have not coped with pollution, the vacuum cleaner can be manually brought to the desired place using the arrow keys on the remote control. Then activate the spot cleaning mode, which carefully removes a small area around the selected point.

The cleaning schedule by day can be configured using the keys on the device body or through the ILIFE application for Android or iOS. ILIFE A7 is well-oriented in space and does not require careful supervision, so you can safely trust cleaning, when there is no one in the room.

The companion application is a new feature for ILIFE vacuum cleaners. Model A7 is equipped with a Wi-Fi module and connects to a home network. At us initial adjustment has turned out only with 3 attempts, the first time there was an unknown error, both with 2,4 GHz, and with 5 GHz network Wi-Fi. Otherwise, the process is visual, it is enough to create an account and enter the password from the Wi-Fi, after which the application will discover and make friends with the robot vacuum cleaner automatically. And, for management, it is not necessary to connect a smartphone to the same Wi-Fi network, you need access to the Internet anywhere in the world.

ILIFE Robot completely duplicates the functionality of the IR remote, activate the cleaning modes, return the robot to the station or take control in your hands directly from the phone screen. In addition, the companion will notify the battery status and, as already noted, will help set up a schedule for automatic cleaning. The only drawback is the lack of the Russian language, because the interface is full of pic to grams, foreign text is minimal.

Autonomy

ILIFE A7 is equipped with a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 2600 mAh at a voltage of 14.4 V. The manufacturer claims up to 150 minutes of autonomous cleaning. In real-time use, the battery is sufficient for a spacious office room.

After completing the assignment, the robot returns to the docking station to make up for the charge. The station is fully unified with other brand devices, a small platform with a power indicator and two contacts will fit into the style of any apartment or office. Detection is automatic, using infrared sensors, creating a special grid. Thus, there are no search problems within one room, but the robot must be returned from the next room manually.

Experience of real operation

During the years of work on robotic vacuum cleaners, ILIFE engineers brought the cleaning system to the required level, ILIFE A7 easily copes with dust, hair and small debris. The robot is optimized for carpets and smooth surfaces, the corresponding brushes are included.

The key feature of the novelty – increased to 600 ml dust collector, now it is less necessary to mess with its devastation.

It is oriented in the space of the robot thanks to the IR sensors on the front panel. Gadget skillfully avoids collisions with large objects. If you do not avoid tying, mechanical sensors come into play. A spring-loaded bumper with a rubber lining eliminates the risk of damaging the furniture. With the movement of problems there, the robot easily overcomes the joints, for example, carpets and inter room pylons. The wires should still be removed in advance, as there is a risk of entanglement. In case of an abnormal situation, the self-propelled vacuum cleaner will stop and will notify you about the event by means of a sound signal.

Care of the robot

Despite the increased dust collector, forget about caring for the robot is not worth it. It is enough to empty the container regularly, clean the filters and the brush, and wipe the case with a dry cloth. A special tool is included in the delivery that facilitates the cleaning of the robot.

Summary

Once again we were convinced that the robot vacuum cleaner is an interesting gadget that takes the task of maintaining order on itself. But forget about the classic means: a bucket, a rag, a powerful vacuum cleaner, – you can not, otherwise, the apartment will drown in the mud.

However, this is a feature of the format, and ILIFE A7 is its exemplary representative. Questions to a specific robot vacuum cleaner is not, on the contrary, it’s nice to see the progress from model to model, the company clearly listens to users.
