We’ve spent all week dedicated to measuring it with its main rivals, the most popular of 8-inch mid-high-end tablets, but today we want to face it in our comparison with your younger sister, in case you have doubts about which of the two quedaros: Lenovo Tab August 4 Plus vs Lenovo Tab August 4, what it is what changes exactly?
Design – The difference between the two models is already visible in the design section, even if the lines are similar, especially when we see them from the back: as you can see in the image in which we show them next to each other On the other hand, the standard version of the Tab 4 8 comes with a soft plastic shell, pleasant to the touch and resistant, but which, of course, can not leave us the same premium sensations as the “plus” version glass case. Also keep in mind that, as was also expected, we will lose the fingerprint reader with the more affordable of the two.
Dimensions – Another point in which you usually see differences between the mid-high-end tablets and the basic range is in the dimension, because the optimization of the first is usually better in terms of both thickness and weight and, indeed , we can see that the version plus is slightly lighter ( 300 grams versus 320 grams ) and quite thin ( 7 mm vs. 8.2 mm ). In size, however, they are practically even ( 21 x 12.3 cm vs. 21.1 x 12.4 cm ).
Screen – In both cases, and as their names make very clear, we have an 8-inch screen with 16:10 aspect ratio (optimized for video playback), but this is another section where we find a significant difference between both, which is the resolution, because only the plus version reaches the Full HD standard, while with the most affordable model we have to conform to the HD ( 1920 x 1200 vs 1280 x 800 ).
Performance – The standard version of the Tab 4 8 has quite interesting technical specifications for a tablet of its price ( Snapdragon 425 , quad-core and 1.4 GHz frequency, and 2 GB of RAM), plus the always attractive, to arrive with Android Nougat . The plus version, however, once again demonstrates its superiority, with a higher-level processor ( Snapdragon 625 8-core and 2.0 GHz frequency) and more RAM ( 3 GB ), and also leaves us the latest version of Android.
Storage capacity – One of the few sections in which we will not find differences seems to be the storage capacity, since the two offer us 16GB of internal memory which, by having micro-SD card slot , we will have the option of expand externally in case we are short of space.
Wristwatch – In the section of cameras the differences return and, if the importance they have will vary depending on the type of user, what is clear is that they are quite broad: with the version plus we have a main of 8 MP and a front of 5 MP , while which with the standard version we were with a 5 MP in the back and another 2 MP in the front (more than enough for the use that will give you the most, anyway).
Autonomy – Another of the few figures that coincide in the two models is the capacity of the battery ( 4850 mAh ), but it must be taken into account that this does not mean that they will have the same autonomy, because they mount processors with different consumptions, and also it is expected that the difference of resolution will play in this case in favor of the standard version, which will require less energy to keep it active. As is often the case, if we are particularly interested in this issue we will have to wait to have comparable real-use test data available.
Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus vs Lenovo Tab 4 8: Final balance of the comparison and price – As we have seen, it is not a few details that distinguish the version plus of the standard, but, except for the fact that they share a name, it must be said that we have two completely different tablets, one mid-basic and another mid-high, with better finishes, more resolution, more power … As always, the question is how much we are willing to pay to enjoy all this because there is a major price difference: the standard model is already on sale in the official store for 170 euros, while the plus version, has not yet been released in our country, but has been announced for 250 euros, which is almost 50% more.
