Lenovo is currently driving a massive attack on Xiaomi in several categories. After being attacked with the Lenovo Z6 Pro, the new Lenovo Z6 Lite attacks several Xiaomi smartphones in the lower and middle price segment, for example, the upcoming Redmi K20 or K20 Pro. The Lenovo Z6 Lite offers everything you would expect from a current smartphone in the upper mid-range, but China is already available from the equivalent of around $169.99.
Even though the Lenovo Z6 Lite has a similar name to the high-end version, the devices have little in common optically. Although the Z6 Lite also has a glass back, this has a completely different design. Instead of the 3D glass, it has become a “simple” panel with a 2.5D edge. In addition, there is a classic capacitive fingerprint sensor on the back. Also the look of the glass surface is clearly different. The Lenovo Z6 Lite is available in “Knight Black” or “Magic Star Dust”. While the black model is rather simple and has only a fine line pattern in the glass, the stardust model is thicker and lives up to its name. The back is in a green tone and is provided with glitter particles. Also the frame comes in green and glitters.
The display comes with relatively slim bezels. The Waterdrop Notch has a different shape than the Pro version and is a bit wider. The display technology is also different. The Lenovo Z6 Lite has an LCD panel with a diagonal of 6.3 inches and a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. However, you don’t have to do without HDR10 support.
The processor used in the Z6 Lite is the Snapdragon 710, which offers more than enough performance both for the upper entry-level segment and the middle class. The chipset is paired with 4GB or 6GB RAM as well as 64GB or 128GB memory. An expansion by Micro SD card is possible by up to 256GB, but at the cost of Dual SIM.
The operating system is Android 9 Pie with ZUI as user interface. The power supply is provided by a 4050mAh battery with 15W Fast-Charging. Besides Bluetooth 5.0 the Lenovo Z6 Lite offers Dual Band AC-WLAN, a Type-C port, a 3.5mm port and Dual VoLTE. An optimized mono loudspeaker and Dolby Atmos support ensure a decent sound.
The camera equipment is impressive. The Lenovo Z6 Lite offers a triple main camera, which consists of a 16MP main sensor, 8MP secondary sensor with 2x zoom and a 5MP third sensor. The camera is supported by a PDAF auto-focus and dual LED flash. The front camera provides a resolution of 16MP. Video recording is possible with both cameras with maximum Full HD. Unfortunately, Lenovo does not provide any information about the frame rate.
The Lenovo Z6 Lite will probably be available at resellers in June. An import is definitely worthwhile, because Band 20 LTE is at the start and the Play services are also pre-installed in the China firmware of Lenovo meanwhile. You only have to upgrade the Play Store via APK. The import price is expected to be in the range of $200. This would make the Lenovo Z6 Pro an interesting alternative to the Redmi Note 7 and the Mi 9 Lite from Xiaomi.
