OUKITEL WP8 Pro Rugged Phone With 6.49 inch Immense Display and NFC Google Pay

Anyone who currently buys an outdoor smartphone can no longer avoid the Chinese manufacturers. Oukitel has often excelled in this segment in the past. With the Oukitel WP8 Pro, we can now expect a new outdoor cell phone with very good features, and we just tested the Oukitel WP7. On board is a fast Helio P23 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB ROM, a 48MP camera and a huge 5000mAh battery. In addition, the Oukitel WP8 Pro can be expanded with modules that include a UVC sterilizer. Therefore, we can conclude that the WP8 Pro is surprisingly more low-end than the WP7 configuration!

The Oukitel WP8 Pro is a very large and heavy smartphone. However, Oukitel has used the space wisely to give the smartphone a large 6.49 inch Full-HD display and protection. Typical for an outdoor smartphone, the Oukitel WP7 has a robust housing with metal and plastic elements. Bumpers are used at the corners to protect the smartphone from damage in the event of a fall. The display is also extra protected by a raised frame. According to the manufacturer, falls from a height of up to 1.5 meters should not be a problem. The smartphone is also dustproof to IP68 standard and protected against permanent immersion, and a MIL-STD-810G certification is also advertised. In addition, the Oukitel WP7 should be able to withstand increased humidity (up to 90%), high pressure (57kPa) and temperatures up to 49°C.

A USB-C port is located on the bottom of the smartphone. On the right there are the volume control and the power button. On the left side there is a freely configurable extra button and another button for the modules. Two SIM cards can be inserted left and right and for unlocking there is a fingerprint scanner on the back. Only a headphone connection was omitted on the smartphone.

The Oukitel WP8 Pro can be extended with modules and the smartphone has no headphone jack. The manufacturer is currently advertising two modules that can be purchased separately for the smartphone. The first module is actually a UVC sterilizer. In the China Technology World there is nothing that does not exist. The sterilizer can irradiate surfaces with short-wave, ultraviolet light. According to Oukitel, this kills 99.9% of microorganisms such as viruses and bacteria by breaking down their DNA. According to Oukitel, the UVC module fights influenza viruses, Candida albicans, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, among others. Two SIM cards can be inserted into the SIM slots at the same time, alternatively one of the two slots can be used for memory expansion. With a 5000mAh battery, the Oukitel WP8 Pro easily doubles the capacity of normal smartphones. So you will easily get a very good runtime of several days. We estimate that if you use the smartphone for about 3-4 hours a day, you can use it for about four days at a time. The battery is charged with a strong 18 watts, which should give about three hours for a full charge.
