The Tanix TX5 Max is a mid-range version of Android TV BOX with the Amlogic S905X2 Quad-core processor, the core of which is the Cortex A53. The speed of the TV-BOX is implemented using the DDR4 RAM, the total amount of which is 4GB. For storage of information meets the built-in solid-state drive with a nominal value of 32GB. Onboard the TX5 Max is flooded with Android new version 8.1.
The TX5 Max is made in the case of rough plastic in today’s standard size, which corresponds to the mini standard. That is, the prefix can stand out from the competitors solely by the shape and streamlined-washed lines, with the result that the device is associated with sea pebbles or with the prefix from Xiaomi, however, unlike the Mi Box S, there are still sharp edges in the TX5 Max. Purely subjectively, the TV Box looks more presentable than the SCISHION AI TWO, but this is purely our value judgment and nothing more.
The inscription “TX5 Max” is printed on the upper edge of the Android BOX. On the lower edge of the label there are more and all of them are of a purely technical nature: information on power, country of origin, MAC address and serial number of the device. For reliable placement of the console on various surfaces, the manufacturer has placed rubber feet in the corners. By the way, the legs perform the function of a decorative cap covering the bolts so that you can, if necessary, disassemble the console and assess the quality of the board.
The standard package of delivery is standard: the retail package is unremarkable, the power supply unit 5V / 2A, the HDMI cable, the IR remote control with hot keys, the user manual in English, and of course the TX5 Max itself.
The right side of the console has two standard USB ports and a slot for expanding the internal memory with microSD cards of up to 128GB. On the front side, the infrared port eye and the device status indicator in the form of a two-color LED have settled. In order to “Fit” this duet into the design of the device, the manufacturer covered the hole with transparent plastic. As for the intrusiveness of the backlight, then it is average here and it can be described moderately bright.
From this it follows that the TX5 Plus is more universal in that it can be disconnected from the HDMI of the TV and taken to the dacha for watching TV shows, movies and videos from YouTube downloaded in advance. Also, the prefix is suitable for those who are planning, though not immediately, but in the near future to get a more modern TV, while not overpaying for the function of Smart TV, which, against the background of consoles on Android, does not look quite fresh.
Tanix TX5 Max has on board Bluetooth 4.2, and this “threw a stone in the garden” the closest analogue of X96. Now, if in addition to buy a wireless joystick for Android with a holder, you can play on the console in demanding 3D games at home, but on the road, have a good time with your smartphone. By the way, about performance, the hardware potential of the TX5 Max with the head is enough to “bring” all your favorite tanks to the level of 35-40 fps, turning off the shadows in the game settings. By the way, we also have a video review on the site, where we have fully justified the thesis that not only Discovery Android consoles can drive, but also become a gaming platform. Therefore, on New Year’s Eve it is better to buy a TX5 Max for yourself and children than to “kill two birds with one stone …”.
The prefix Tanix TX5 Max has absorbed all the strengths of the closest competitors on the Amlogic S905X2 processor, and this compares favorably with them. The availability of video output for old TVs allows their owners to enjoy all the charms of Android TV today, without buying new TVs with built-in such a function. For owners of new and relatively new TVs, the TX5 Max, in addition to direct features, gives preferences for entertainment in the gaming space. Naturally, we are not talking about a full-fledged competition between the Playstation and the Xbox, but children under the age of 14, as well as “tankers” will appreciate this gaming experience.
