In specialized portals all over the world there is a multitude of daily news about Chinese technology. Whether it is due to the arrival of very modest terminals that do not succeed in arousing the public’s interest, or to other more advanced terminals that are becoming real competitors against the star models of the big companies in the rest of the world, the truth is that, as we mentioned yesterday, the Asian giant is determined to position itself as a technological reference point.

Today we’re going to talk to you about Vernee. The company, which already exhibited some of its crown jewels during the Mobile World Congress that took place in Barcelona a few weeks ago, would soon be launching a new phablet, called Apollo 2, the second member of the family of the same name and of which some of its characteristics have already been revealed. Next we will tell you more about this device that would include the participation of two historic Japanese giants in consumer electronics.

In this sense, the most outstanding thing that still remains within what we are accustomed to seeing is its metal casing and fingerprint reader. At the moment no further details about its dimensions have been revealed and the first existing photographs show a greyish device. Another striking feature is the fact that the screen occupies almost all the side frames.

As we told you before, some components have been supplied by larger companies. In this case we are talking about the screen, made by Sharp and which will reach 5.5 inches, and the cameras, which run on Sony’s account and in the back will reach 16 MP. The diagonal will be equipped with 2.5-D technology. In terms of performance, we are facing 8GB RAM according to GizChina, which would place Apollo 2 as one of the highest terminals on the market at least for now in this sense. The initial storage capacity will be 128 GB and its processor, a Helio X30, would allow it to reach peaks of 2.8 Ghz. Your operating system will be Android 8.1

At the moment, its possible launch date and the cost for which it will go on sale remain a mystery. Other aspects also remain unknown, such as whether or not it will reach Europe.
