This mini Beamer from China comes from the manufacturer INOVEL, a company of the “Xiaomi Eco System“. It is similar in appearance to the Xiaomi Mijia Projector, and comes with the MIUI operating system.

With numbers the China shops sting a bit, and even on youpin.mi.com info are few and far between. The seller on AliExpress gives a few more numbers – among other things, the contrast and power consumption – in which we are still skeptical, as there are sometimes also invented numbers. So far, it seems that the INOVEL ME2 projector is almost identical to the Mijia Projector. Processor and graphics chip are the same, there is 16 GB of memory in the device and just the Xiaomi operating system.

However, it is not a Xiaomi device, as well as the China shops mention. Banggood, who had listed the INOVEL Projector first, write it far down in the description, but at least. But that here was a collaboration with Xiaomi, but here is clear. One could go so far and say, here the quasi same Beamer is sold under a different brand and in modified form.

Resolution, brightness & more

The similarities do not end with the already mentioned hardware, the other data are similar. This is also a LED projector with DLP technology. The maximum resolution is Full HD; where 4K videos can play. The LEDs come back from Osram, which you will not tire of mentioning in the description. The fact that individual components come from Germany still has enormous importance in China as a sign of quality.

One difference is the indicated brightness of 1100 lumens compared to 800 lumens at the Mijia. Is that true, then the INOVEL should offer a slightly brighter picture, but this would be almost negligible given the already good brightness of the Mijia.

Particularly interesting, however: Even this projector should have an autofocus and an auto-keystone correction, so adjust the image independently to the wall.

The sound is provided by two 3W loudspeakers with graphene drivers.

Xiaomi MIUI TV operating system

What sets the comparison so close is the MIUI TV operating system installed on the INOVEL. We already know that from the two Xiaomi projectors. In the delivery state, it is completely in Chinese, but there is again the possibility to change the language at least in English. The whole additional menu items are again developed exclusively for the Chinese market.

Here you can then install other apps, but it is easier again to connect an external device. There is an HDMI 2.0 port on the back. In addition, we find two USB ports (2.0 and 3.0) and an AUX output, also the connection for the power supply.

Summary

Anyone who already owns or plans to buy the Xiaomi Mijia Projector will not really be able to do anything with this model. These are almost identical beamer, with the INOVEL has a slightly higher brightness and it seems a bit cheaper, but has weaker speakers. I would tend to Xiaomi original in case of doubt, but what do you think?
